Is there any method that we can keep the item and its sub item in a hierarchical format in SharePoint 2013 like task-subtask-subsubtask?

Hello everyone,

I have a requirement which is showing the list item in a hierarchical format in SharePoint 2013 custom list. Like below:

RootItem

SubItem

SubItem's SubItem

It's similar with the task item and subtask item.  And of course, it should be able to be collapsed and expanded. And the relations of these items were controlled by a certain field value of them.

As I can see, I have to do some customize to make it. But i've no idea to do that. Dose anyone have such experience of that? Many thanks in advanced.
