Hi,
I'm a bit confused about the relationship between the system account and workflows.
Basically one of my workflows is not starting automatically even though I have that option ticked. This thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointworkflow/thread/d10d8be2-2846-4b20-8d44-bc2780bcdac5/ says that you workflows can't be triggered by a system account. However, when I look at the User Id of other workflows it is always the system account. The "Created By" field is always the domain user that initiated the workflow.
Why is it that the workflow is running under the system account and not the person that initiated it?
I've also followed the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947284 to try and change the application pool account in the hope that the workflows would, by default, run under a different account and therefore be triggered automatically. However, I got myself in a world of trouble by doing this as it resulted in no one being able to access the site apart from the domain admin on the actual server.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can get my workflows to run under any account apart from the system one? Any help appreciated!!
Claire
