Rating scale font size and column width

Hey everyone,
I'm a bit stuck on this design issue...
I've built a survey with 4 Rating scale type of questions.. everything is ok but the width of the column that displays the question is way too narrow.. is there a way to increase it?
Another problem im facing is with the font size of the question.. its WAY too small and unreadable...
I've tried to override the ms-gridtext class in my aspx file to increase the text size but it seems like it have no effect at all...

Any ideas what i can do? :~
