updating secondary list after approved in first list

Hi,

we have 2 SharePoint list, when points are approved in the first list i want the second list to be updated by adding existing points to the points approved.

is it something that we can do on SharePoint setting or we need to use SP designer.

Note: I am working on SP 2013, 2010 the old version.
